Photonic Communications AWG-Star

AWG-Star technology developed by NTT offers a powerful and scalable optical communications infrastructure that allows the deployment of several real time operations’ applications, with no broadband restrictions.

To take advantage of fiber optical networks and high speed broadband, the NTT routing devices are passive and optical elements, capable of routing with no electric power, making AWG-Star a robust and confidant system.

It works with full optical devices with DWDM technology that today allows expanding the fiber optics capacity up to 32 times, reaching data speeds of 320 Gbps.

NTT amplifying technology is optical as well, increasing the original light signal after the weakness produced by the fiber optic cable. The amplifier made of erbium doped fiber (EDFA) carries all the different frequency channels to its original strength.
