Tailings

Tailings (or tail) are toxic waste byproducts of mining processes and mineral concentration processes so leaks or structural damage detected in advance cannot generate irreparable damage to the environment, as well as millions in losses for the company and communities.

Monitoring is based in BOTDR technology (Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometry), technique which within its advantages is immune to moisture, as its operating principle is light through an optical fiber and not electricity, nor has mechanical elements susceptible to corrosion.

A specialized data analysis in real time and visualization software is available to generate alerts automatically and visualize its location in a map showing the path of the cable.  The monitoring output, including charts and summary reports can be uploaded to a private and protected website.
